El Gaucho Meat Market is a mini-mart, butcher, restaurant, and local hangout all in one. The mini-mart offers a small but more than sufficient variety of South American pantry items, including dulce de leche, corn flour, canned fish, spices, and sodas. We personally can’t get enough of the Materva Yerba Mate bubbly and Chocolate Ibarra! Also, the mini-mart’s freezer and refrigerator hold fresh cheese, ravioli, and to-go items and its produce case displays a limited selection of fruits and vegetables.
Like any good Argentinian establishment, meat is king at El Gaucho. Various cuts of bright red beef, marinated carne and pollo, and exotic offerings like honeycomb tripe and blood sausage fill the butcher case. Order some empanadas while selecting your dinner ingredients. We recommend skipping the bland spinach for the magnificent beef and chicken varieties. If you have time, take a seat at the handful of tables inside, watch a soccer game on the giant flat-screen television, and chow down!
