Papa Cristo’s

Papa Cristo’s C&K Importing Company calls itself the Athens of Los Angeles, and for good reason. This taverna and specialty store has been the largest purveyor of Greek products in L.A. for over 60 years. Dozens of Greek wines line the west end of the store. Across the way, the delicatessen cases display homemade hot pies, imported cheeses, fresh cuts of lamb, and over twenty varieties of its signature baklava. The center space is densely packed with pantry items like olive oils, jarred vegetables, spices, and much more. They do say never to shop on the empty stomach! So, we suggest hitting up the market after a nice meal at the taverna.
